are never okay to mix the way we do

Yesterday my mom and I visited our (or probably just my) home away from home— Santana Row. It is a fake outdoor European shopping arena and I am in love with it.

However, our most recent trip was marked by an unusual amount of emotional turmoil and highs and lows. Let me explain

Curiousity: as I noticed a mass of people lined up to see some sort of spectacle/production

Awe and amazement: as I tapped some girl on the shoulder and she told me the spectacle/production was RACHAEL RAY SIGNING COOK BOOKS

Pride: as I captured some quality action shots of her on my phone from a distance

Excitement: as we stood in line to buy 4 boxes of macaroons from a bakery which shall remain unnamed

Frustration: as a woman who shall remain unnamed refused to give us the macaroons with a later expiration date

Anger: as we paid for the inferior macaroons and I thought about the situation more

Awe and amazement (again, but stronger this time): as I watched my mother turn back around, stand up for herself, and demand firmly yet politely that we receive better customer service!

Victory: as unnamed lady exchanged our macaroons for fresher and thus more delicious ones

Santana Row, you certainly took me for a ride! I’ll be back soon
